GEORGE    FODEN
|
George and Hannah FODEN were the parents of Mary.
Finding this enabled us to confirm that they were definitely Mary's parents. It also revealed that George was a Yeoman and a man of wealth and property. George also refers to his grandson George Foden Baldock. Hannah was described as a 'higgler' (A peddler - much of the higgler's trade involved barter, rather than money changing hands and the name derives from the resultant haggling). A messuage and land in Kingsbury, formerly part of Bodymore Heath. MS 917/1943 14 August 1827. Release. John Handley of Kingsbury, co. War., Thomas Willington of Tamworth, co. Stafford, Thomas Arme of Kingsbury, George Foden of Lea Marston, co. War., and John Dumolo of Kingsbury. A messuage and land in Kingsbury, formerly part of Bodymoor Heath. MS 917/1944 15 August 1827. George died on 28 September 1836 aged 80. Hannah, however, survived a further 26 years, and died 1st July 1862, aged 95. They are both buried at St. John the Baptist, Lea Marston, along with their daughter Sarah FODEN who died 26th October 1839 aged 33. |
